Definition of the word CMS
The CMS , for Content Management System, refers to a set of software used to design and update Internet sites or multimedia applications. It is translated into French as a “content management system”.
To be able to be defined as CMS , the software must be able to be used simultaneously by several individuals, to propose a chain of publication, to allow the separation of the operations of management of the form and the contents. The CMS software also allows structuring the content of a website and prioritizing users of the site, by assigning them a specific title and / or special permissions (administrator, contributor, etc.). WordPress is probably the most famous CMS today: it is free, open source, and tens of millions of websites use it.
